- S2 Art: Ink Heads -

Three more pieces from Surrounded 2 and still more to come. I had a lot of fun with these and I feel like I'm starting to work out of my comfort zone, which is always a good thing in my opinion.

All three: Ball point pen, pencil, & acrylic on wood.

- M @ Bold Hype -

The show was a real success ! Pics are up from the show on Bold Hype's Flickr. Let me say it was a pleasure working at the gallery and getting to hang out with all the artists. Probably one of the best weeks I can remember.

Here's what I had up. All three pieces sold in the first half hour.

Also, Bold Hype was nice enough to rush some shirts of my design to sell at the show. Available in Yellow and Pink. This gallery really gives it's all and spares no expense. Please hit up their web page and buy some shirts ! My hats off to Enemy Ink for doing such a nice job and getting them done so quick. Shown in the pic is my design along with Andrew Spear's.

- Getting Back -

As you all may or may not know I was just in India getting a tune up. "Why India" you say? Because I'm poor with really bad arthritis, a mound of debt, and no health coverage. Plus India is CHEAP. Two new elbows and a knee later and I'm getting back into the swing of things.

I have some album covers finished up and a few fun drawings that I'll post later.

- Grafuck 4 -

My last minute submission to Grafuck 4. I don't think it will get in based on the fact that the book is a horizontal format and this piece looks like balls when placed on it's side. Either way it was good fun.

P.S. Some may notice that the little guy in her hair is from one of my pieces from the "You Love to Hate" show. Pictures of the paintings and the show will be up soon, promise.

- You Love to Hate: The Preview -

Hey kids. Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been very busy with various art shows and other projects. Here are some pre-show pics from the "You Love to Hate" event that went down 4/12. It was crazy successful (despite being shut down by the police). I don't think I've seen so many people out for an art show in Orlando. I'll have some better pics of the pieces and of the actual show later.

Thanks to my buddy Dres13 for the pics.

Working.

Drink & DryThe wall. 8'x8'.

- Goatman -

Here's my submission for BEASTS! volume 2 from the good people at Fantagraphics.

The Maryland Goatman has been a favorite monster and inside joke with some friends from way back. He likes to attack couples in parked cars with his hand axe and has been known to kill peoples pets.

Lets hope he makes the cut....

More info as it arrives.

I've been a busy boy. Check back soon for more updates!

- Crutch & the Giant Junshi -

Happy New Years everybody. To wrap up 2007 here's a promo poster i just finished for
Sleepy Bird Orphanage's first release, Crutch & the Giant Junshi "Caterwaul". Kind of playing around with the layout used on the "Immaculate Shark" poster. Originally I was thinking of making it a horizontal layout but Nick really loved the drawing and the Shark layout just seemed right for it.

See you later 2007. Did you know 8 is my lucky number?

- Cat & Canary -

Recently finished the album art for the next Mumpsy release on Post-Records. Here's the cover and the initial image for the CD face. The CD face image will be just line work due to the 3 color limit of the printers.

- GIANT illustrators -

I recently got together with a group of Orlando illustrators ( GIANT illustrators) and we are putting out a promo book in early 08. The theme is "Giant vs ____". My submission isn't very literal (which I like). If you want the skinny behind the piece you'll just have to wait until the book comes out and then request one. Until then you can guess and make up your own stories behind it.

- late halloween -

Here's something I started a few days before Halloween as fun piece that I could work on when I needed a breather from other projects (album covers, zines, ect).

About halfway through I realized it had become just as (if not more) stressful as my other projects so I let it sit for awhile. After a few days and numerous changes this is what happened. Not sure how I feel about this one.

- race to atlanta -

Here are some drawings that I made while in Atlanta with my friends from "The Immaculate Shark".

Adventures included a gas guzzling Suburban, nice weather, awkward Atlanta folk, sleeping on a hardwood floor, & various word games.

- my first drawing -

Thats right " It's a bird... It's a plane... It's SUPERMAN !!! "

My mom found my very first drawing that was actually of something (not scribbles or weird shapes). I was 3 years old when I cranked this out.

The spit curl (or "Supercurl" as my mother likes to call it.) is her favorite part.

- the immaculate shark -

Hot off the press. This guy will be used for The Immaculate Shark tour starting in October ! Venue info will be hand written in the small cloud for each date. I'm not sure who did the font, but if I find out I'll make sure to give credit.

-News Flash!!!- Sources tell me that Adam Smith is the font master. Drop him a line and let him know he does nice work.

If you're in the neighborhood when they play you should check them out and buy them drinks.

- atlas & chopsticks -

Here's some B&W's. It's nice to work with ink. Still trying to break the digital habit. Next maybe I'll work with paint. That would be something...

I'm working on a zine with Chris Cucci of Post Records that will include some sweet Sci-Fi. It's looking at a December or January release.

Here's the skinny. Write a story about either or both of these drawings. Keep them short and sweet. And the ones we like best will be in the first issue. Get in touch with me here or myspace.com/davidhoskinsart

- old news is old news -

Happy 4th everybody. I was just going through the computer and came across the Munny I painted for the Uberbot show about a year ago. Here it is for those who missed it.

I also did another for the third Munny Show but I'm waiting on the photos for that one. (Kristan)

- the sneak -

Because updating the web page is annoying i introduce the blog.

Currently working on...

-Customizing a "Labbit" for the august 25th show at UBERBOT.

-new work for an upcoming show in the fall. No title or date yet, but the show will be my first showing of traditional media (not digital) work since god knows when. Look for updates and process here in the coming months!

-Throwing around ideas for my story book with Mr. Ryan Patton, if he can sit still and finish a story. I don't fancy myself a writer so he needs to get with it. It will be called "3 Reasons Not to Sleep".

Something kind of new "The Sneak"
